Lenten Book Study: Rev. Lisa Vaughan at the first Visioning planning session reminded us that the most important of the Seven Marks of Mission is a congregation "energized by faith." St. George's has a strong worship and sacramental life but needs more time spent in activities that help people grow in and share their faith. Our Lenten Book Study is an invitation to come and share and grow both individually and as a community.
The book, "Learning to Walk in the Dark" by Barbara Brown Taylor is a beautiful book, easy to read with lots to challenge and heal and help us grow in wisdom. It's not a book to be afraid of but to embrace and enjoy.
You are being invited to join a study group for thee Mondays at 2 p.m. or three Wednesdays at 7 p.m. - or mix and match these sessions if that works best for you. The dates are as follows:
Week 1: Feb 22 & 24; Week 2: Feb 29 & Mar 2; Week 3:Mar 21 & 23.
Plan to come - by yourself or with a partner or friend. Membership is not limited to those who are Anglican or from this church or any church. It's open to anyone who would like to read and share and grow.
